12th edition of Bangladesh Premier League
Cricket tournament
2025–26 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2026) will be 12th season of the Bangladesh Premier League, a professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh that was organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The season will commence on 26 December 2025, and the final will be held on 23 January 2026.[1][2][3][4]
The 2026 BPL season will clash with BBL, SA20, Super Smash, and ILT20.
In the last season, there was some controversy regarding payment issues with Durbar Rajshahi and Chittagong Kings.[5][6] In this season, BCB decided to cut those teams that failed to present the necessary documents.[7]
The 2026 Bangladeshi general election is also a reason for organizing the BPL with fewer teams to complete the competition before the election.[8]
The ownership rights of the Chittagong franchise were acquired by Triangle Sports, which later renamed the team to Chattogram Royals.[9] The Rajshahi franchise also experienced a change in ownership, it is now owned by Nabil Group of Industries, and the name has been changed to Rajshahi Warriors.[9] The Sylhet franchise also has new ownership under Cricket With Sami, and it has been renamed Sylhet Titans.[9] Noakhali has been introduced as a new franchise, acquired by Desh Travels.[10][11] The Khulna and Barishal franchises will not participate this season.[12]
The auction took place on 30 November 2025.[13]
Five franchises were confirmed initially, and on 24 November, Express joined them.[14] These six teams will participate in this edition of BPL.[15][16][17] The names were finalized on November 6, 2025.[18]
The auction took place on 30 November 2025.[19]
The full squads are as follows:[20]
