On 3 January 2026, explosions were reported in Venezuela’s capital city Caracas.[1] At least seven explosions were reported at around 2:00 a.m., and low-flying aircraft were seen.[2] The southern area of the city reportedly lost power.[3] Higuerote Airport and El Libertador Air Base are among the places struck.[4] The explosions occurred during heightened tensions between the country and the United States.[5]
