Billit is a Belgian company that provides invoicing software for entrepreneurs and accountants.
History
Billit was founded in 2014 in Belgium.“Bijlagen bij het Belgisch Staatsblad – Annexes du Moniteur belge” (PDF). Retrieved 2026-01-21.
According to publicly available company profiles, Billit originated from efforts by Frederik Chan, who identified inefficiencies in traditional invoicing and accounting workflows based on his professional experience. In 2013, Chan took the initiative to develop a more digitally oriented software platform.“Billit”. Wikisage. Retrieved 2026-01-21.
Chan worked together with Tom Van Gaever, who assisted and advised him in executing his vision and strategy. Through Van Gaever, Chan was introduced to Michael De Meerseman and Kurt Santelé, software developers who had previously created an internal invoicing tool known as Profa. This tool served as the technical basis for further development.“Billit”. Wikisage. Retrieved 2026-01-21.
In 2014, the software platform was formally established under the name Billit, building on the earlier Profa system and expanding it into a product intended for use by both entrepreneurs and accountants.“Billit”. Wikisage. Retrieved 2026-01-21.
Product
Billit provides cloud-based invoicing software that allows users to create, send, and manage invoices digitally. The platform is intended to facilitate administrative collaboration between entrepreneurs and their accountants.
