Notice

The article On the Art of Military Leadership has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:N, particularly WP:SIGCOV

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article’s talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello, Reiner Stoppok

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged XIIII for deletion, because it seems to be vandalism or a hoax.

If you feel that the article shouldn’t be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don’t remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

@Reiner Stoppok and Cloventt: Well, that’s odd, I thought to myself when I saw this marked for speedy deletion. IIII is a pretty standard non-standard version of IV in Roman numerals. Surely XIIII also would be a pretty standard non-standard version of XIV, right? All it needs is a single citation to avoid deletion as a hoax, yeah? So I went looking for references. This from the Princeton University Art Museum. Wikipedia’s Louis XIIII redirects to Louis XIV. Jacques-Louis David‘s Portrait of the Comtesse Vilain XIIII and her Daughter from the National Gallery‘s website – that’s about Vilain XIIII, (an article that, to put it politely, has some shortcomings), Legio XIV Gemina aka Legio XIIII according to Livius.org? I’m confused as all fIVck about about this, to be quite honest. Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 10:05, 29 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Shirt58 and Cloventt:I just found it in an edition of good old Hakluytus posthumus. Together with some other outdated words (e.g. ‘the Portugals‘). —Reiner Stoppok (talk) 10:36, 29 September 2025 (UTC) PS: Unlike IIII, I couldn’t find XIIII on clock faces. 😉[reply]

Hello Reiner Stoppok,

I’m Taking Out The Trash, and I patrol new pages here on Wikipedia.

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged a page that you created (Historia general de España) for deletion because it is an unnecessary disambiguation page per one of the criteria at WP:G14.

If you feel that the page shouldn’t be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Taking Out The Trash}}. And, don’t forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Sorry, what is wrong with this disambiguation page? —Reiner Stoppok (talk) 21:32, 2 October 2025 (UTC) PS: I can’t discover the trash.[reply]

Disambiguation pages need to actually disambiguate something. Neither of the two pages listed actually exist, therefore it’s not disambiguating anything. These pages should only be created when there are two or more similarly-named existing Wikipedia articles about different topics. Taking Out The Trash (talk) 21:36, 2 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I found many red links in other disambiguation pages as well. Both important works are mentioned in the articles of the historians. —Reiner Stoppok (talk) 21:42, 2 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation pages need to have at least one blue link to be legitimate. Also please stop pasting the content of said page into this page, and be aware that just because other stuff exists doesn’t mean that everything needs to exist. Taking Out The Trash (talk) 21:48, 2 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Reiner Stoppok, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I’ve started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Jan Opielka, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jan Opielka.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it’s not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Dionysodorus}}. And don’t forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

I am sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form, and it is much better as, for example, the many articles in the form of “Johann Joachim Schwabe“. —Reiner Stoppok (talk) 17:06, 5 October 2025 (UTC) PS: cf. Amusements of the Mind and of Wit[reply]

Good morning! Could you please provide sourcing for the text in that article? Currently the main body section (which I have renamed “Background and content”, since encyclopedia arycioles do not have introductions) is currently completey unsourced. I am assuming that you do have some sources for this text – so would you please cite these? Strictly, unsourced material cannot remain in article space, and this should technically be removed from the article until sources are provided. So please see to this timely 🙂 Cheers —Elmidae (talk · contribs) 09:52, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Add: I have just realized that this is probably just the usual problem with articles built on the deWP model – no inline references, everything just hidden in a “general references” list, here called ‘literature”. While that is not ideal and should be improved, it does fulfill sourcing requirements. Cheers —Elmidae (talk · contribs) 10:10, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not introduce links to draft articles in actual articles, as you did to List of military theorists and writers. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. – Arjayay (talk) 14:25, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

OK. —Reiner Stoppok (talk) 14:28, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Shisan Jing Zhushu, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Jin and Chunqiu. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It’s OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, —DPL bot (talk) 19:56, 10 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, A Voyage to the River Sierra-Leone, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can’t be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I’ve moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of “Draft:” before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia’s general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the “Submit your draft for review!” button at the top of the page. Hello, Reiner Stoppok. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, “The Lives of Celebrated Travellers“.

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Information icon Hello, I’m Lp0 on fire. An edit that you recently made to Draft:BlackRock Holdco 4, LLC seemed to be generated using a large language model (an “AI chatbot” or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications is usually unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and may contain factually inaccurate statements, fictitious citations, or other problems. You should instead read reliable sources and then summarize those in your own words. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. lp0 on fire () 15:43, 11 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, or should that be Ni Hao? I was intrigued that you started an article on a fable back in October, which I only came across recently. Not many on WP take an interest in such things. Unfortunately you only treated it as one of La Fontaine’s fables, despite one of your sources mentioning it as a fable of Aesop too. You didn’t mention that La Fontaine’s version was translated into Russian by Ivan Krylov either, and into English by Elizur Wright. Still, since you’d set the ball rolling, I decided to fill in some of the gaps, which I hope you don’t mind. If you ever start on other fables some time, it would be a good idea to look at the Talk page of Aesop’s Fables, where in February 2011 a discussion was started on the wide coverage needed in fable articles. It looks, though, as if you have moved on to other subjects now! Sweetpool50 (talk) 23:01, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, the list of my imperfections is long (the article is really much better now). When I was looking at my list of Krylov’s fables, I noticed that something was missing and that it needed a second La Fontaine article so that my template wouldn’t be deleted. 😉 —Reiner Stoppok (talk) 23:13, 19 January 2026 (UTC) PS: It seems that the fables are (and will be) an endless topic of discussion … (inside and outside of WP) …[reply]
