”’Us Rah Par”’ (Urdu: ”’اُس راہ پر”’) is Pakistani pop singer Junaid Jamshed Khan’s second solo effort, after Junaid and the rest of the band members took a break from the Vital Signs. It was critically and commercially successful. Us Rah Par is the second solo album by Pakistani pop singer Junaid Jamshed. Released in 1999, it became a commercial blockbuster in Pakistan and India, spawning several hit singles that dominated the airwaves in both the countries. Upon its 1999 release, Us Rah Par emerged as a major commercial success, becoming one of the highest-selling pop albums of the year in Pakistan. The album Us Rah Par was a major commercial chartbuster and best seller in India outperforming every Bollywood movie soundtrack released that year, becoming a staple of the Indian pop scene in the late 1990s. It was released under the Times Music Label in the Indian market, where its music videos received significant airplay on MTV India, making it one of the highest-selling albums by a Pakistani solo artist in India. Within six weeks of its release, Us Rah Par was certified platinum in both India and Pakistan. This was reported at the time as a record for the shortest period to reach platinum certification for a solo artist from the region. It one of the first albums by a South Asian artist to be ranked among the top 10 best-selling albums globally. The album is widely regarded as one of the defining pop records of the late 1990s in South Asia. Us Rah Par is widely considered the most commercially successful solo project of Pakistani pop singer Junaid Jamshed, outperforming his entire solo discography in terms of regional and global sales. While his 2002 follow-up, Dil Ki Baat, was also a notable commercial hit and reached platinum status, it could not replicate the widespread cultural phenomenon or the sustained commercial peak established by Us Rah Par. As of 2002, over 15 million copies of the album have been sold. Like many other Vital Signs albums, Us Rah Par continued Junaid’s collaboration with Shoaib Mansoor. The title track ”Us Rah Par” is a slow blues number which featured a video directed by Bilal Maqsood (of the band Strings). However it was the techno flavored Na Tu Ayegi which actually gave the album the much needed commercial push. Three songs in the album are composed by Biddu
