@MPGuy2824: There are at least two places called Islampur in Maharashtra.

  • Islampur, Sangli district, also known as Uran Islampur. In the 2011 Census, this had a population of 67,391, and an area of 40.42 square kilometres (15.61 sq mi).[1]
  • Islampur, Ratnagiri district. In the 2011 Census, this had a population of 1,474, and an area of 1.38 square kilometres (0.53 sq mi).[2]

The article called Islampur, Maharashtra was created by Northamerica1000 in April 2016 as an article on Islampur, Ratnagiri district.[1] But an IP editor changed Ratnagiri to Sangli in June 2020.[2] Then people “corrected” other details in the article, without wondering why an article on the Islampur in Sangli district had a citation to the census for Ratnagiri. I don’t have the time to do this right now, but in the end the following pages should exist:

  1. An article for the city in Sangli
  2. An article for the city in Ratnagiri
  3. A disambiguation page (Islampur, Maharashtra) which points to the above two articles.
If you think you can do this, then please try. Otherwise ask for help at the India Wikiproject. –MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:54, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I have also added Islampur, Ratnagiri district to the Islampur disambiguation page. Toddy1 (talk) 09:55, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
