Earth Sciences History (ESH) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the History of Earth Sciences Society (HESS) covering the history of the Earth sciences.[1]

The journal was established in 1982 by the History of Earth Sciences Society (HESS), which is affiliated with the International Commission on the History of Geological Sciences (INHIGEO, founded in 1967).

The journal publishes historical works on all fields of the Earth sciences, including geology, geography, geophysics, oceanography, paleontology, meteorology and climatology. It encompasses diverse approaches to historical research, including biography, history of ideas, social history, and the history of institutions and methods.[2]

The journal published twice per year.

Included in ISI Web of Knowledge.
