Sat Sep 21: Wikicurious – Editing to the Beat ♫ @ Lehman College

You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for the “Editing to the Beat” event of the beginner-focused Wikicurious series at Lehman College. This is the second event of the series, following the inaugural event at Civic Hall in July. Led by a 9-person live band demonstrating Caribbean and Latin musical genres, we’ll engage with efforts such as WikiProject Latin Music, and will encourage editing on both English and Spanish Wikipedia. All are welcome, and newcomers and aspiring editors are especially encouraged to attend. Registration via Eventbrite is required for building entry, and is also encouraged on the event page on Meta. Hello. I am trying to create a page called 2024 Stagg Bowl, which is coming up in two days and I wanted to check if the page should be named as either 2024 Stagg Bowl or 2025 Stagg Bowl because the year that we are in is 2025 and the Stagg Bowl years have been increasing by one every time with the latter of the 2023 Stagg Bowl played back in December 2023. Hello, I would like to inquire about the possibility of creating an article that lists all hat-trick cases scored by Real Madrid players under the title ‘List of Real Madrid CF hat-tricks‘ Would this be against the guidelines? Please leave an edit summary when reverting someone else’s edit. You did not do so at Template:2024–25 Northeast Conference men’s basketball standings. As I explained in my edit summary, I removed the space to make it consistent with the other notations in the standings. Before I did that, I had checked all the conference standings to see whether there was any consistency with spacing before the dagger for the conference tournament winner, and there was not. Since you simply reverted my edit without explanation, I went back and checked again whether you might have done so for consistency reasons and found that they now all have a space. Had you left an edit summary, I would have believed you and not wasted time re-checking. I’m going to add spaces before the asterisks in these standings, so they look consistent. There was an RFC about this sometime ago at Wikipedia:Village_pump_(policy)/Archive_172#Proposal to ban draftifying articles more than 90 days old without consensus and the outcome of that was that articles which were created more than 90 days ago should generally not be moved to draft unless there is consensus to do so at WP:AFD. @TarnishedPath: These are no longer eligible for PROD as they are one and done deals. Once a PROD is removed, for any reason other than vandalism or block evasion, they are permanently canceled. You tagged the article Oregon-Stanford Football Rivalry for lack of notability without any explanation on the article’s talk page. Can you explain why it lacks notability as per the relevant guidelines? If you cannot do so I will simply persistently remove your tag, as you have failed to even state a case (see rule 4 of WP:WTRMT, when to remove a tag: “When an article talk page discussion has not been initiated (for templates requesting it);” Furthemore, there is no one else but you, as of now, questioning the notability of the article topic, and there have been other users beside myself questioning the existence of this particular tag, so the “silent consensus” would appear to be in favor of the article topic having enough notability.
I would like to note: there are 6(!) independent (I think only one of the sources, footnote 4, can be considered non-independent) secondary sources cited in the article that not only affirm the existence of this rivalry but cover it in-depth, where more than just a few sentences are devoted to it, there it is NOT trivial coverage, and I would say 5-6 of the sources go beyond routine game coverage (WP:SPORTCRIT)
It therefore abides by the GNG! (“Sports rivalries are not presumed notable. Articles on sports rivalries, such as Yankees–Red Sox rivalry, should satisfy the general notability guideline.” WP:NRIVALRY

@Wickster12345: Though Oregon and Stanford have had some memorable games, one can debate that it should not be considered a rivalry with a much better case than other CFB rivalry articles. And secondly, that other user is not a regular user, but an unregistered IP (potentially a blocked account notorious for creating random CFB rivalry articles). And lastly, the “Analysis” section in the article makes the rivalry’s notability seem forced, as it just explains journalists’ opinions on the recent games in the all-time series like a film review from a film critic. That is your opinion. I disagree strongly. You are clearly not abiding by Wikipedia rules whereby “multiple” independent sources (ie 2!) are sufficient to determine the existence of notability to justify an article. There are, therefore the article is notable. Also, just quoting excepts from overall articles whose sole objective is to explore the rivalries in depth doesn’t make your point very well. I think the rules are as long as there are independent secondary sources that go in depth in terms of the subject matter, and I think AT LEAST 2 do, this article is notable.
