I will go ahead and ”’support”’ this well-written article as I am sure you will add a short description, and I’m not sure it is even a technical requirement. It’s been a bit, but next up in the congressional delegations series (which includes Utah, Indiana, Hawaii, Connecticut, Colorado, Idaho and Arizona) is Arkansas! Compared to the others, Arkansas’ representation in Congress is uniquely non-continuous, as it’s the first state in the series that was part of the Confederacy. Please let me know if you have any feedback for the list! Thanks as always, Staraction (talk | contribs) 02:55, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • The few images that I checked didn’t have alt-texts. –MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:27, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for this oversight, @MPGuy2824. This should now be fixed. Staraction (talk | contribs) 05:46, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • The table in the “1883–1893” section would need to be split. Right now it suffers from MOS:COLHEAD issues (last column). Alternatively, you can title the column “5th district” and add a footnote for Breckeridge to say that he was elected from the at-large district.
  • The same problem in the “1873–1883” section.
  • The first sentence in the lead is quite long. It could use a split.
  • “Every member of Arkansas’ current congressional delegation, including Boozman, are members of the Republican Party.” I think there is a singular-plural issue here. Rewriting might be better.
  • “and an affair”
  • I noticed a few links that need disambiguation: Drug Enforcement Agency, The Hill, and Rick Crawford.

Hi @MPGuy2824, thanks for your review. I believe I’ve fixed everything you have pointed out. If you have any more comments, please let me know! Staraction (talk | contribs) 21:52, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Support on prose and accessibility. –MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:51, 7 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think its worth writing about the changes in the size of the delegation in the lead
  • I think it should include information about the partisan balance in the lead, something similar to what exists on United States presidential elections in Arkansas
  • “Each state elects a varying number of” for non Americans explain why the numbers vary
  • “The current dean, or longest-serving member, of the Arkansas delegation” I think the wording may need to be tweaked, currently it looks like McClennan and Boozman are both the longest serving as opposed to Boozman the longest serving incumbent and McClennan the longest overall.
  • “Prior to the ratification of the Seventeenth Amendment in 1913, Arkansas senators were elected by the Arkansas General Assembly.” and after the ratification how are they elected?
  • Under Current Delegation list the least Republican district
My thoughts ping me when done Olliefant (she/her) 13:57, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @OlifanofmrTennant, thanks for your review. I believe I’ve addressed everything you’ve pointed out here. I included a small bit about political trends in Arkansas; let me know if you think more should be added. If you have any more comments, please let me know! The table keys are redundant, you don’t need to say blue means Democratic ten times; please consolidate at top. Reywas92Talk 15:17, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Will provide a source review later, please ping me if I forget. UpTheOctave! • 8va? 14:33, 7 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reliability

  • Sources seem reliable for their uses
  • Noting that the Encyclopedia of Arkansas is written by volunteers but has a substantial editorial board

Consistency

  • Use of archive links is inconsistent
  • Use of access dates is inconsistent
  • Inconsistent use of “via” for books and newspapers
  • Inconsistent use of publisher location
  • Inconsistent date format in journal sources
  • Inconsistent wiki-linking of parameters
  • Consider using a consistent casing in citation titles (e.g. title case or sentence case)

Other comments

  • EOA refs should be consistent in including “Central Arkansas Library System”
  • Senate refs don’t include “U.S. Senate” in their actual title
  • Refs 15 and 17 are duplicates
  • Refs 29 and 30 are duplicates
  • Use identifiers (doi, ISBN, OCLC) for book references wherever possible
  • Many of the page ranges supplied are far too wide (some >20 pages), please use a system like {{rp}} after an individual reference to aid verifiability
  • Shouldn’t it be Associated Press like the article
  • Ref 4: MOS:CONFORM change hyphens for ranges to dashes
  • Ref 5: “National Archives” is not part of the title
  • Ref 7: is missing a date
  • Ref 11: missing author
  • Ref 15: missing author
  • Ref 16: use the website name, not URL
  • Ref 22: missing page range for section; should be United States Government Printing Office to match earlier ref
  • Ref 26: missing date
  • Ref 42: missing date
  • Ref 44: TIME -> Time
  • Ref 46: names in wrong order
  • Ref 50: names in wrong order
  • Ref 53: use website name, not URL
  • Ref 56: consider listing editor
  • Ref 59: newspaper is the Chicago Daily Tribune

Spotchecks will be completed after individual page numbers are supplied. Best, UpTheOctave! • 8va? 19:03, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
