Jayly Flare (real name Gero Mathew Abraham, born 1 January 2008) is a Ugandan recording artist, songwriter, and performer. He is best known for his hit single “Kolo ma Woman” and for being a rising voice in Uganda’s new generation of Afrobeat and Afropop musicians.


Early Life and Education

Jayly Flare was born at Lacor Hospital in Gulu, Uganda, to Gero Patrick and Nabanoba Ritah Lule. He grew up alongside several siblings, including Lakica Kimberly, Agenorwot Elizabeth, Prwot Destiny, and Lakop Edith.

He began his education at Global View Nursery School before joining St. Janani Loum Primary School. He later attended Kitgum Primary School for one term and completed his Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) at School Road Primary School in Gulu in 2022.

In 2023, Jayly Flare joined Ocer Campion Jesuit College for his lower secondary education, where he continues to balance academics with his growing music career.


Jayly Flare began pursuing music at an early age, developing a passion for Afrobeat and contemporary Ugandan sounds. He joined the music group Star Bangs, which included other upcoming artists such as Cent DML, D.O.G, Tizky, and Komax, under the management of Marvo.

He released his debut single “Kolo ma Woman” on 27 September 2024, which quickly gained attention across Northern Uganda and social media platforms. Following its success, he signed with Ignite Kings Entertainment in 2025, marking a major step in his professional career.

In January 2025, Jayly Flare released his second single, “Lighter”, further establishing his sound and presence in Uganda’s music scene. He has also performed at several events, including school concerts and public shows, such as his headline performance at City Club in Gulu on 12 January 2025.

Jayly Flare’s sound blends Afrobeat, Afropop, and urban fusion, characterized by catchy rhythms, smooth vocals, and youthful energy. His lyrics often celebrate love, resilience, and identity.

He cites Omah Lay and Rema as his main musical inspirations, crediting them for influencing his stage performance and songwriting style.

Raised in a Christian family, Jayly Flare is a Protestant and an active member of youth groups such as the Catholic Youth of the Modern Generation (CYMG) and the Young Christian Students (YCS).
