Genus of fishes

Alburnus is a genus of fish in the family Leuciscidae, the daces and minnows.[1] They are known commonly as bleaks.[2] A group of species in the genus is known as shemayas.[3] The genus occurs in the western Palearctic realm[4], and the center of diversity is in Turkey.[5]

The genus Chalcalburnus is now part of Alburnus.[6]
