1. Khalil al-Hayya assumed a central leadership role following the deaths of Ismail Haniyeh (assassinated July 2024) and Yahya Sinwar (killed October 2024)

2. He is a lead negotiator in ceasefire and hostage exchanges, heading the delegation in Qatar.

3. He is part of a five-member leadership council currently guiding Hamas operations abroad.

4. While targeted by Israeli forces in an airstrike in Doha on September 9, 2025, underscoring his perceived significance, there is no evidence that he has been assassinated or has been removed from his position as of September 10, 2025.

Remove category “Unsolved murders in Utah”. Seems like it would unduly imply guilt on the arrested person. Seems unnecessary to call such a recent criminal investigation “unsolved”. “Murder” is otherwise not used on the page outside of quoting others. Macxcxz (talk) 16:15, 12 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
