:::No need for talking, I’ll bluelink all of those hidden redlinks in the next few days. Some of the names shown are outdated, but I’ll update them after I make the articles. [[User:Esculenta|Esculenta]] ([[User talk:Esculenta|talk]]) 20:57, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

Hello! Your submission of Gibraltar Mountain (Washington) at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) at your nomination’s entry and respond there at your earliest convenience. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! My story today is about a mezzo as a thinking person, DYK? (The nomination wasn’t by me, which probably helped to a short review.) – Look at the video if you have a few minutes. I never saw her on stage, but (in 2022) the last Carmen production at the Bastille Opéra that she was in, – see music. — Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:18, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Happy birthday, Margaret Medlyn! (I found the article – not by me – when searching for someone whose birthday is today.) – I took a cat pic, presented by Rosiestep today. —Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:52, 7 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Happy 50th birthday, Alain Altinoglu!) – I let the video begin with a closeup of the octobass 😉 Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:51, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Red link states “Red links are for subjects that should have articles but do not. They are not only acceptable but also needed in articles. They serve as a clear indication of which articles are in need of creation, and encourage it. Remove red links only if you are certain that Wikipedia should not have an article on that subject.” Abductive (reasoning) 20:12, 23 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Abductive Ive been doing this for quite a while, and WP:Red link at not point says that when writing an article it is REQUIRED that every possible red link be included, its up to the editors discursion as to how a link should be directed. the article is on Gibraltar Mountain and the ecology section is best served with links to the article genera. If you look in the archives of WP:WikiProject Plants, WP:WikiProject Fungi, etc., you will find discussions where editors bemoan the practice of hiding redlinks to species, suggest having a bot find the offenders, and so forth. You are the only editor I have ever encountered in 16 years of editing who is for hiding redlinks. There is a very nice editor, User:Esculenta, who creates huge numbers of articles on lichens.
