Would someone be willing to add more here on breast, and more rare forms of neuroendocrine tumors? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.134.137.73 (talk) 17:10, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The World Health Organisation has suggested the use of the follow (instead of “carcinoid”):

— or —
See: Can J Gastroenterol. 2008 Apr;22(4):357-8. PMID 18414708, Ann N Y Acad Sci. 2004 Apr;1014:13-27. PMID 15153416, Pathologe. 2003 Jul;24(4):287-96. PMID 18414708)

As per above, I think it makes sense to merge carcinoid into neuroendocrine tumor (or move both to neuroendocrine carcinoma. Nephron  T|C 06:18, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Carcinoid is a subgroup of neuroendocrine tumours, other NET should not be discussed on the same page as carcinoid as it creates confusion.
  • Support. Carcinoid is now an obsolete term as per the WHO. However, I suggest the page be renamed “Neuroendocrine neoplasm”, which are then subdivided into Neuroendocrine tumors (the new term for carcinoid) and Neuroendocrine carcinoma (poorly differentiated, G3 lesions) (Emilyjem (talk) 03:04, 16 June 2017 (UTC))[reply]

I’m removing this section as it seems almost irrelevant – no other types of cancer list people who have suffered and this is not a particularly rare form either. It appears to me that it’s added in solely to name Steve Jobs; of course if I’m wrong then revert but for now I’ll be bold! Cpl Syx [talk] 10:12, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Support removal. Anyway, he doesn’t have neuroendocrine cancer anymore.. eug (talk) 05:41, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, quite! Thanks for support. Cpl Syx [talk] 11:04, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
