PM Shehbaz meets MQM-P delegation to discuss 27th Constit­utional Amendment

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday met a seven-member delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement- Pakistan (MQM-P) led by Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui to discuss the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment, a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said.

A day earlier, the MQM-P had demanded that local governments (LGs) be given autonomy in the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment.

“The delegation included Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori, Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal, Members of National Assembly Dr Farooq Sattar, Javed Hanif Khan, Syed Ameen ul Haq, and Khawaja Azhar ul Hassan,” the statement added.

“During the meeting, discussion and consultation took place related to the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment.”

In the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Advisor to Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah were also present.
