At Wikipedia:Village_pump_(proposals)/Archive_172#Designating_current_seasons_in_infoboxes, I read clear consensus to use text rather than images to designate the current season. I went ahead and made the change at {{Infobox award}}, but since I’m not a sports person, I’ll leave the implementation for sports templates such as {{Infobox football league}} to you all here. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 21:35, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
- I’ve added a DNAU tag to this thread; feel free to remove it once you have finished implementation. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 20:49, 24 October 2020 (UTC)

This looks like it might be useful to some of you: https://wikipedialibrary.wmflabs.org/partners/16/ It says that they offer books about sports.

(@Blue Square Thing, it’s probably too much to hope that they’ll have books about cricket players, but maybe we’d be lucky…) WhatamIdoing (talk) 00:41, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks. Looks like there’s a book on the Philadelphia cricket team which might be helpful. And a history of US cricket from 1710 to 2000 which I’m sure would be interesting. But it’s got a lot of baseball and so on, naturally enough. If anyone finds anything, let me know Blue Square Thing (talk) 05:08, 21 June 2025 (UTC)

I recently created Draft:2026 Wimbledon Championships. Is it not appropriate for mainspace yet? There’s already an article for the 2027 Super Bowl. Thriley (talk) 16:02, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- Probably not; there isn’t any actual information other than the date. The ’27 Super Bowl page has a bit more information, and while I personally think it’s too soon there’s probably enough there to merit keeping it. Primefac (talk) 15:16, 20 July 2025 (UTC)

disqualification (sport) and disqualification (sports) now redirects to ejection (sports). The article on ejection describes ejecting from a current event. The instance of DSQ’ing can occur before such an event, or years later (as seen in Olympics drugs results), so this doesn’t seem to be proper. A separate topic of DQ’ing should exist. — 65.93.183.181 (talk) 12:37, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- Agreed. I would also argue that the word “ejection” is very much a concept in American sports, and is not used that way in other English speaking countries. HiLo48 (talk) 00:08, 7 August 2025 (UTC)

I have initiated a discussion in WP:CRICKET for the exclusion of the last game played field by an active cricket team. Perhaps it applies to other sports, as well?
