Kawakami Princess (June 05, 2003 – September 11, 2023) was a Japanese Racehorse, sired by King Halo and foaled by Takano Secretary. [1]

She raced through 2006 – 2009 with a total of 17 starts, earning a total of 350,892,000 JPY. During her career, Kawakami Princess won the Double Tiara in 2006, placing first in both the Shuka Sho and the Japanese Oaks.

2006: 3 Year old Season

Kawakami Princess debuted on September 26, 2006, on Hanshin turf and placed first out of 15 horses. She then went on to participate in two more ungraded races, the Kunshiran Sho and Sweetpea Stakes, placing first in both races. Kawakami Princess then went on to compete in her first G1 graded race as the third favourite, the Japanese Oaks, in which she placed first by a total of 3/4 lengths. 2007: 4 Year old Season

In 2007, Kawakami princess raced in 2 races, the Victoria Mile and the Takarazuka Kinen, placing 10th place and 6th place respectively. [4]

2008: 5 Year old Season

In 2008, Kawakami Princess competed in 4 graded races. She placed 3rd in the Kinko Sho. In October of that year, she took part in the Fuchu Himba Stakes and placed 2nd. Following that, Kawakami Princess went on to race in the Queen Elizabeth 2 Commemorative Cup, coming in at 2nd place after losing to Little Amapola by one and a half lengths. [5]She also took part in the Arima Kinen of that year and placed 7th, with first-place winner being Daiwa Scarlet. [6]

2009: 6 Year old Season

Kawakami Princess raced in the 2009 Kyoto Kinen and placed 4th. Following that, she raced in the Sankei Osaka Hai and placed 3rd. She then took part in the Victoria Mile and placed 8th, with Vodka winning first. Following that, she raced once more in the Fuchu Himba Stakes and placed 6th. Her final race was the Queen Elizabeth II Cup, where she placed 9th. [7]

After her racing career, She retired to Mitshishi Kawakami Ranch where she lived the rest of her life in peace, passing away on September 11th 2023. She foaled 10 offspring during her Retirement. [1]
