This course investigates how contemporary Latinx/Afro-Latinx artists intervene into public space, often challenging social norms and the traditions of art and art history simply by being present. Students are introduced to what it means to research, write, and cite in the discipline of art history by producing a short research-based paper, which will serve as the research guide for new/updated Wikipedia articles to connect a broader public to art historical knowledge and Latinx art.
