While deletion might not be the only or most optimal solution, something ought to be done about this article, considering that it is not very [[WP:ENCYCLOPEDIC]] perhaps it should be merged into one or several articles to the extent that it can be verified. *”’Keep”’ clearly passes [[WP:NLIST]]. Was a [[WP:BEFORE]] done? Kolkata is a major city that attracts international tourists. There are ”many” travel guides in google books and the internet archive which cover Kolkata. For example [https://archive.org/details/delhitokolkata0000bett/page/136/mode/2up?q=Kolkata+guide], [https://archive.org/details/the-rough-guide-to-india-travel-guide-with-free-e-book-rough-guides-main-series-2024/page/n5/mode/2up?q=Kolkata+tourism], [https://archive.org/details/india-dk-publishing-2008_202506/mode/2up?q=Kolkata+tourism], etc. These have lists of attractions, so the topic is clearly discussed as a group or a set in [[WP:RS]]. Note we have a ”very large” category tree of hundreds of similars articles which you can explore at [[:Category:Lists of tourist attractions]]. There are also many travel magazines that cover tourist attractions in India. I would imagine that between travel mags and books and newspaper articles, it would not be difficult to compile over a hundred sources with [[WP:SIGCOV]] on this topic. The idea that this topic isn’t encyclopedic is ridiculous. We have [[WP:WikiProject Travel and Tourism]] for a reason.[[User:4meter4|4meter4]] ([[User talk:4meter4|talk]]) 03:14, 23 November 2025 (UTC) |

*:Perhaps you are right in that regard; perhaps it is the prose (which is of rather subjective nature at times) that should be dealt with instead [[User:BlockArranger|BlockArranger]] ([[User talk:BlockArranger|talk]]) 03:17, 23 November 2025 (UTC) |

While deletion might not be the only or most optimal solution, something ought to be done about this article, considering that it is not very WP:ENCYCLOPEDIC perhaps it should be merged into one or several articles to the extent that it can be verified. - Keep clearly passes WP:NLIST. Was a WP:BEFORE done? Kolkata is a major city that attracts international tourists. There are many travel guides in google books and the internet archive which cover Kolkata. For example [1], [2], [3], etc. These have lists of attractions, so the topic is clearly discussed as a group or a set in WP:RS. Note we have a very large category tree of hundreds of similars articles which you can explore at Category:Lists of tourist attractions. There are also many travel magazines that cover tourist attractions in India. I would imagine that between travel mags and books and newspaper articles, it would not be difficult to compile over a hundred sources with WP:SIGCOV on this topic. The idea that this topic isn’t encyclopedic is ridiculous. We have WP:WikiProject Travel and Tourism for a reason.4meter4 (talk) 03:14, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
