- Hello, I can make edits to this page and maybe I did not clarify it within the text, but Robert Burdick was a significant figure in Rhode Island history in the American colonies because he was one of the first of 20 settlers of the city of Westerly, Rhode Island and a court deputy to the general court of the colony. Likewise, he was the forefather of many (later) American politicians, actors, and writers. 108.59.60.242 (talk) 13:23, 1 October 2025 (UTC)

- Did you look at any of my edits to the page versus the original content I wrote for this subject? They include more than enough evidence for reasons why the subject should be included as its own Wikipedia article page. For example, both Tobias Saunders and John Crandall have their own pages, so why not Robert Burdick? He was one of the original 24 settlers of the city of Westerly, Rhode Island and I think it is important to cover city founders for posterity sake. Not to mention that he was the first person to emigrate to the United States with the last name Burdick. Thanks. 108.59.60.242 (talk) 13:21, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- Yes I clearly checked them all. By the way, Tobias was Deputy to the Rhode Island General Assembly (meats WP:NPOL) and John has many reliable citations as well as a protestant minister. Being a founding father doesn’t confer notability. We don’t also use the fact that another page exists to determine it conclude that a relatable page should exist (a major point used when such pages gets to WP:AFD; see Wikipedia:OTHERSTUFF). Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 13:57, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- This much is true. However, similar to Tobias Saunders, Robert Burdick was also a Deputy to the General Court of Rhode Island (later called the Rhode Island General Assembly) in the years 1680, 1683, and 1685 specifically as a representative for the city of Westerly, Rhode Island. Deputies for the General Court were an elected office (which also meets the WP:NPOL for Wikipedia articles). I just thought I would clarify that point as to why I am trying to establish Robert Burdick as his own page. I will add more citations if that it what you are looking for. Thank you. 108.59.60.242 (talk) 14:20, 3 October 2025 (UTC)

The article John MacCoone has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:BASIC. Anything relating to the individual does little more than record his existence.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article’s talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - Hello, while John MacCoone is mentioned multiple times throughout the citations provided, he technically follows the Wikipedia:Notability (people) sections of:
- As he was a juror on the Rhode Island General Assembly. Besides this, MacCoone is a notable person to the foundation of Westerly, Rhode Island and the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. Please see all citations and read through the actual sources before proposing deletion of this article. 108.59.60.242 (talk) 19:03, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
