Comment: While I do see some decent coverage in the cited sources, most of them are non-notable student publications. The Holler citation is also light on details, providing mostly analysis on the song’s lyrics. Ca talk to me! 12:26, 31 August 2025 (UTC)
2024 single by Gigi Perez
“Fable” is a song by American singer-songwriter Gigi Perez. It was released on October 25, 2024, as the fourth single from her debut studio album At the Beach, in Every Life.
Background and composition
[edit]
The song is about the grief that Perez felt after the death of her sister, Celene.[1] Perez named the song after the last song that Celene sang.[2] In an interview with Atwood Magazine, Perez said:
“‘Fable’ captures something that I’m almost at a loss for words. I don’t even know how to explain what I felt, and that’s why I use the music. The emotions are so big and complex that I feel like the closest thing I can get to it is a song like ‘Fable’.”[3]
Liv Parisi of The Ramapo News gave the song 5/5 stars, calling it a “beautiful song truly”.[4] Taylor Boggess of The Spectator penned, “This song is amazing, and it was instantly added to my sad music playlist”.[5]
