Yeshiva Bnei Torah (YBT) is a ”yeshivish” Yeshiva founded in 1972 in Far Rockaway, New York, by Rabbi Yisroel Chait. It serves as a dormitory and seminary for post-high school students, and is also a communitiy synagouge. The main focus of the learning is on Gemara, with a heavy ephasis on the Brisker Derech. Other religious studies include the tanach, Jewish philosophy (”machshavah”; Heb: מחשבה), and independant thinking. Two Rabbis who teach there, Rabbi Aaron Zimmer and Dr. Rabbi Elie Feder, also have a podcast entitled ”Physics to God.” |

History
Rabbi Yisroel Chait was a student of Rabbi Yosef Soleveitchik.
In 2009 a new building was built.
As of now, the Rosh Yeshiva Emeritus is Rabbi Yisroel Chait; his son, Rabbi Pesach, is the Rosh Yeshiva; Rabbi Matt Schneeweiss is the spiritual co-ordinator; and Rabbi Cinnamon is the mashkiach
A sunday shiur was taught every sunday by Rabbi Yisroel Chait until recently. Now, it is taught by various yeshiva-affilieited rabbis and members.
