She is a PhD student under the guidance of the professor Yogesh Wadadekar at NCRA-TIFR in the city of Pune.[2] She has studied the images taken by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to analyze the process of formation of galaxies in the universe. During her studies on the images taken by JWST, she spotted and identified a new grand design spiral galaxy behind the huge galaxy cluster Abell 2744 also known as Pandora’s Cluster. After the identification of the new galaxy, she named it Alaknanda Galaxy after the name of Himalayan river Alaknanda flowing in the Indian subcontinent.[3][4]
