The 2025 Odintsovo school attack was a deadly school attack that occurred on 16 December 2025 at Uspenskaya Secondary School in the settlement of Gorki-2, Odintsovo District, Moscow Oblast, Russia. A 15-year-old student named Timofey Kulyamov attacked fellow students and school staff with a knife and pepper spray, killing a 10-year-old pupil of Tajik descent and injuring several others before being detained by law enforcement. A criminal case was opened by the Investigative Committee of Russia.[1][2] The perpetrator also livestreamed the attack.
On the morning of 16 December 2025, a 15-year-old pupil entered Uspenskaya Secondary School in Gorki-2, Odintsovo District, armed with at least one knife and reportedly a pepper spray device.[3] According to statements from local authorities, the attacker sprayed a security guard before stabbing a 10-year-old fourth-grade pupil, who later died from his injuries. Several other individuals, including the guard, were wounded and transported to a nearby hospital.[4]
The suspect was subdued and detained at the scene by responding police officers.[5] The Investigative Committee of Russia announced that a criminal investigation had been opened on charges including murder.[6]
Following the attack, the school was evacuated and emergency services were deployed to the area. Classes were suspended as investigators conducted on-site examinations and interviews with witnesses.[7]
