- … that Charlie Kirk’s widow Erika Kirk (pictured) was Miss Arizona USA winner in 2012?
- Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Mary C. Henderson
- Comment: The article is currently nominated for deletion, but it looks likely to be kept. It is fully protected at the moment so the bits that would otherwise make good hook alternatives cannot yet be added to the article.

Article expanded by +5x since 10 September 2025 to DYK nom. Long enough and new enough. Well-sourced, neutral (content is reasonably basic / plain as has been under full protection since 11 September) and free from copyvio (including images). Passed a well participated AfD. The hook is interesting, non-controversial, and well supported. QPQ is done. Good to go. Aszx5000 (talk) 12:19, 17 September 2025 (UTC)

Reposting my comment from the AfD: A source I found that doesn’t contribute to notability but indicates there is an inaccuracy in the article:
Cunard (talk) 08:30, 14 September 2025 (UTC)
- Please remove the part of the article that says she was born in Scottsdale, Arizona, since it is not supported by the source. I don’t know if the primary source above is sufficient to add that she was born in TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. That may require more discussion. Cunard (talk) 04:50, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- I don’t know who changed this, but it originally said she was from Scottsdale, not born in Scottsdale. (CC) Tbhotch™ 06:18, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- I have removed the “born in Scottsdale.”. However I will not yet add the Cincinnati Post information until someone has confirmed that this is really a birth notice for this Erica, and not someone else. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:59, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
- I was asked below if I know who her parents are. I have not seen a source that gives that information. I have not looked through all sources. We might get more sources on this soon. I am not even sure I have seen a source that says if her parents are alive of not. With Charlie Kirk’s funeral on the 21st we may get several more sources between now and then.John Pack Lambert (talk) 12:59, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
- I’ll argue that the place of birth should be removed while this discussion is ongoing. If Arizona is wrong, and Cincinnati is debated, the happy medium in my opinion is to omit it.
- DontCallMeLateForDinner (talk) 18:10, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
- That is how the article is now. So I will set answered=yes, and the proposal can be restarted if there are suitable sources with a birth place (or parents). Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:44, 19 September 2025 (UTC)

“change she has a doctorate in Biblical studies to she is in a doctorate program currently. She isn’t finished” 2600:1002:A111:4AD8:160C:6F39:65EE:3F96 (talk) 00:20, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
- It does not say that, the article says she has a “doctorate in Christian leadership”. So do you have a reference that says that she is studying a “doctorate in Biblical studies”. We only add facts supported by sources here. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:23, 17 September 2025 (UTC)

- I have found https://www.mrserikakirk.com/about mentions she is studying as you stated. Is that page up to date? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:55, 19 September 2025 (UTC)

- Although there are plenty of social media pages saying this, there is nothing so far from reliable sources. Charlie Kirk is reported as a role model. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:34, 19 September 2025 (UTC)

Change “On September 10, 2025, Erika’s husband was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University, the first stop of his American Comeback tour” to “On September 10, 2025, Erika’s husband was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University, at a stop of his American Comeback Tour.
The tour began in the spring, and this was its first event of the fall season. This would also correct a style issue, as MOS:NEITHER recommends that the names of tours and events not be italicized. DontCallMeLateForDinner (talk) 18:45, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for your suggestion. I have corrected the article. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:00, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
Erika Kirk has stated that the America Comeback tour will continue. Here is a source covering this. Change instances after Charlie Kirk’s name is used the first time from “Charlie” to “Kirk” to ensure formality and neutrality. 2603:7000:5100:34FB:D8D:2AB9:F7E:30A (talk) 01:56, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- I am not going to do that, as in this article unqualified “Kirk”, refers to Erika. Is “Mr Kirk” appropriate? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:08, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
I think now that she’s the CEO of Turning Point USA, it would be worth highlighting that in the first sentence. Something like “American businesswoman, podcaster, and CEO of Turning Point USA since 2025.” Not exactly like that but something that doesn’t make her CEO activities seem like a footnote in her life. See Inspecting rumor about Erika Kirk launching fundraiser after husband’s death Doug Weller talk 14:19, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
- The fundraiser statements would be more relevant in the killing article. Because of the Modesto Proposal, Erika would not be handling this fundraising (my own synthesis of info). Perhaps the $12 million estimate could be included in this article.
