Elijah Tukwariba Yin
Elijah Tukwariba Yin (born 24 October 1985) is a Ghanaian Legal Scholar. He is the Director for Legal Research and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. [1] His academic specialization is Law and Society.
Early Life and Education: Elijah was born in the Greater Accra Region, Ghana. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Geography from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law in the United Kingdom, a Master of Laws Degree from UNICAF University in Zambia, a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology of Law from the International Institute for the Sociology of Law, Faculty of Law, University of the Basque Country in Spain [2], a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Sociology with specialization in Law and Society from the University of Cape Coast, a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard’s Derek Bok Centre for Teaching and Learning, and a certificate in Global Law, Economic Policy, and Social Justice from the Institute for Global Law and Policy, Harvard Law School. [3]
Career: Elijah is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Law. He has held academic positions and also served as a member of committees and boards at the University of Cape Coast. He is the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law and the Director of the Centre for Legal Research. He has served as Acting Dean of the Faculty on a number of occasions. He has presented and participated in several conferences within and outside Ghana. He is a Senior Visiting Scholar to the International Institute for the Sociology of Law in Spain. [4] He has published a number of articles in law and socio-legal studies. [5] He has edited two books titled Advancing Civil Justice Reform and Conflict Resolution in Africa and Asia: Comparative Analyses and Case Studies [6] and Contemporary Issues in Criminology in Africa [7]. He is a member of the International Law Association, Headquarters, London, Associate Member, African Studies Center, Leiden, The Netherlands, and the Law and Society Association, USA. He currently teaches Jurisprudence, Legal Research, Philosophical Foundations of Law, and Introduction to Sociology.
Personal Life: Elijah is a Seventh-Day Adventist. He believes in the second coming of Jesus Christ. He is married with 3 children.
