Upcoming Indian film by Boyapati Sreenu

Akhanda 2: Thaandavam (transl. Whole/Undivided 2: Dance) is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language fantasy action drama film directed by Boyapati Sreenu and produced by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Ishan Saksena, under 14 Reels Plus and IVY Entertainment, respectively.[2][3][4] The film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty and others.[5][6] It is a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda.[7]

The film’s music is composed by Thaman S, with cinematography handled by C Ramprasad. Akhanda 2 is scheduled to be released on 5 December 2025.[8][9][10]

Development

After the massive success of Akhanda (2021), director Boyapati Sreenu confirmed in early 2024 that a sequel was in development.[11] The film was officially announced as BB4 on the occasion of Nandamuri Balakrishna.[12]

On 25 January 2025, the team officially announced Samyuktha as the female lead. On 2 February 2025, makers announced Aadhi Pinisetty as Antagonist opposite Balakrishna. On 2 July 2025, Harshaali Malhotra were announced to be on board, marking her debut in Telugu cinema.[13][14]

Filming

The film was officially launched with a muhurtham shot on 16 October 2024 in Hyderabad.[15] Principal photography began in 2024 with major schedules shot in Hyderabad, Himalayas and Kumbh Mela.[16][17][18] In mid-2025, the team filmed key sequences in Georgia.[19]

The film shooting wrapped up on August first week.[20] and Balakrishna completed dubbing for his role in 29 August 2025.[21]

Marketing

The film teaser was released on 9 June 2025, on the occasion of Balakrishna’s birthday.[22][23]

Music

The soundtrack album and background score were composed by Thaman S.[24][25]

Release

Akhanda 2 is scheduled to release on 5 December 2025.[26]
