He was elected as a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile for the 5th District (Region of Coquimbo) in the 2025 parliamentary elections, running as an independent within the Unidad para Chile coalition.[1][2]

Salinas has served in multiple regional public roles in the Coquimbo Region. In 2015 he was appointed as Regional Ministerial Secretary (Seremi) of Government, where he defined communication and territorial coordination priorities for the regional administration.[3]

Later he served as Regional Coordinator for the Subsecretariat for Regional and Administrative Development (SUBDERE) in Coquimbo, overseeing local investment and municipal strengthening programs.[4]

Salinas ran as an independent candidate backed by the Unidad para Chile coalition in the 2025 parliamentary elections.

He was elected deputy for the 5th District, securing representation for the provinces of Elqui, Limarí and Choapa.[2]

His campaign emphasized regional development, decentralization, local investment management and strengthening municipal capacities—areas aligned with his prior work in regional government.
