2025 season of an Indian television series
Season of television series
Bigg Boss 9 is the ninth season of the Indian Tamil-language reality television series Bigg Boss, produced by Banijay. Vijay Sethupathi is returning as a host for the second time in a row.[1][2] The season is scheduled to premiere on 5 October 2025 on Star Vijay and JioHotstar.[3][4][5] However, this season the unseen episodes will be aired on Colors Tamil.
The official first look and logo were unveiled on 1 September 2025, confirming the season’s launch with Vijay Sethupathi once again as the host.[6][7] On 5 September 2025, the second teaser released with Vijay Sethupathi is seen emphasising the idea of “trying something new,” hinting at a season filled with surprises and unpredictability along with the tagline of the season being: “ Paakka Paakka thaan theriyum” (You’ll know only by watching).[8] On 13 September 2025, the poster of the season was shared across social media platforms which also unveiled the launch date of the season.[9][10]
The logo features a purple neon shades which symbolises the number 9 as the iris and with a sleek silver frame.[11][12]
The show streams 24/7 on JioHotstar , with the main daily episode on Star Vijay reflecting a digital-first approach. An unseen episode is aired on Colors Tamil which shows extra footages which is not aired on the 1 hour episode.[13][14]
Haier is the key sponsor for the season of Bigg Boss providing home appliances for the house.[15]
The Bigg Boss 9 house, located in EVP Film City, Chennai, features an Ancient Civilization-inspired theme, primarily influenced by Egyptian and Mesopotamian architecture. The interior design incorporates walls engraved with hieroglyphic-style symbols, colossal sculpted faces reminiscent of pharaohs and deities, and ornate golden and bronze detailing that evoke the grandeur of ancient temples. Symbolic motifs such as wings, triangular emblems, and carved relics highlight the mystical and regal ambience of the space, blending historical opulence with a modern aesthetic. [16]
In contrast to the overall theme, the house also includes a luxurious bedroom designed in a distinctly contemporary style, featuring an attached bathroom and a private jacuzzi, offering comfort and sophistication that diverge from the main house’s design
This season also marks the return of the iconic jail feature, which was absent in the previous season, and the revival of the swimming pool, which had remained empty since Season 3 and had been missing entirely since Season 7.
Additionally, for the first time in the show’s history, the main entrance to the house, traditionally located in the garden area facing the house, has been shifted to the position that previously served as the activity area entrance, marking a notable structural change in the layout of the Bigg Boss house.
