Cooper and Fry is a British television series adapted from the Cooper and Fry book series written by Stephen Booth, with Robert James-Collier and Mandip Gill in the roles of Cooper and Fry. The series started to air on Channel 5 from 18 November 2025.

An English detective in the Peak District, Ben Cooper, must work on a string of mysterious deaths with a guarded newcomer, Diane Fry.[1]

The four-part series was announced in July 2025 by Channel 5 and produced by Clapperboard Studios, in association with Failsafe Films. The series is co-created by Ben Court and Caroline Ip who also serve as writers on the series, with Kit Lambert and Jeff Povey. It is adapted from Stephen Booth‘s novel series of the same name, with the adaptation including early books in the series such as 2000 debut novel Black Dog, Dying to Sin, Blind to the Bones and Dancing with the Virgins. The 120-minutes long episodes are directed by Ryan Tohill and Jesse Quinones.[2][3]

The cast is led by Mandip Gill as Diane Fry and Robert James-Collier as Ben Cooper.[4] First-look images from filming were released on 1 November 2025.[5]

The series is set to air on Channel 5 from 18 November 2025.[6]
