Aleutika Island is a small, uninhabited island in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska.^[1]
It is part of the long volcanic island chain that extends westward from mainland Alaska into the Bering Sea.^[2]

Geography

The Aleutians separate the Bering Sea to the north from the Pacific Ocean to the south. The archipelago is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, containing numerous volcanoes and rugged terrain formed by the subduction of tectonic plates. Many islands are volcanic in origin, and several have active or dormant volcanoes.^[3] The climate of the islands is generally cool, windy, and wet, with persistent fog and heavy precipitation. Vegetation consists predominantly of grasses, sedges, and low shrubs, with few trees due to harsh maritime conditions.^[4]

Major Island Groups

The Aleutian Islands are commonly divided into several island groups:
