Mission and Objectives
[edit]
Asia Lutheran Seminary’s motto is “Christ-Centered, Mission-Minded”. It aims to train Chinese church leaders with law and gospel as the core of training. The school focuses on exegetical studies based on the original languages of the Bible (i.e. Hebrew or Greek)[1],[1] and therefore emphasizes that students must learn basic Hebrew and Greek. The school also hopes that students can apply what they have learned, develop evangelistic enthusiasm and skills in preaching and missions, build believers in the right way, become familiar with the achievements and difficulties in Christian history, and understand the Bible and compare and apply it in the Christian belief system based on the confession of Lutheran theology.
In addition to the ecumenical creeds (the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed), the college also professes the Lutheran confession of faith, the Book of Concord, and the Wisconsin Lutheran Church’s confession of faith, This We Believe. [2][4]
The Degree Programs include (all accredited by the Asia Theological Association):[3][5]
- Bachelor of Theology
- Master of Divinity
- Diploma of Ministry
- Postgraduate Diploma of Ministry
In addition, there are language
programs for[5]
