  • Comment: Right now at this point in time the film does not meet notability guidelines. It has screened at a film festival, but it never seemed to gain any reviews or coverage other than a handful of sources that really didn’t go into any true depth. I think that the best option here is to wait until the upcoming release and then see if it garners more coverage then. It did win awards, but none of them are really the type that would let the article pass WP:NFILM on that basis alone and besides, both are unsourced by anything other than primary websites.I’ve edited the article heavily since the prior version not only contained copyright violations but it also was not laid out in the format that Wikipedia prefers. I’ve removed a lot of primary sources from the article and put some of them in the external links section. The thing is, primary sources like the official website and social media pages cannot show notability for the film and in general it’s best to only include one official link for the film. It’s generally assumed that the average official website will contain all of the important links for the various social media sites, which is the case here, and adding in a ton of social media sites can have the unintended side effect of making the article seem promotional. So right now it’s basically a waiting game for sources. It’s somewhat surprising that this didn’t get at least 1-2 reviews given the cast members, but it does happen. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:27, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

Butterflies of Bill Baker is a 2013 psychological drama and the feature film directorial debut of Sania Jhankar.[1] The film had its world premiere on 29 June 2013 at the Manhattan Film Festival, where it won the MFF Award for Best Alternative Feature.[2]

Bill Baker (Will Chase) is a sensitive man that spends his days peacefully working in his garden but his nights suffering from severe night terrors that cause him to act out while he sleeps. After one particularly violent episode Bill’s wife Emma (Marin Hinkle) leaves him, which forces Bill to seek ways to potentially cure himself of the terrors. There is a treatment, but it is highly experimental and very dangerous and this leaves Bill with only the hope that he will eventually find a way to get his wife back. However soon Bill meets Annie (Sterling Jerins), a 10-year old girl that may prove the key to solving his night terrors and making his life happier.

Butterflies of Bill Baker marks the directorial debut of Sania Jhankar, whose father, Ajay Jhankar, wrote the script, which she subsequently translated. According to Sania Jhankar, the film has a universal story and she set it in New York since she lived there for ten years.[3]

The film was released in India at the Kolhapur International Film Festival in December 2013[4] and the NFAI on 23 December 2014.[3]
