Francis Peyer Porcher (December 14, 1824-November 19, 1895) was a botanist in the United States.
He was born in St. John’s Berkeley Parish.[1] He attended Mt. Zion Academy and graduated from South Carolina College. He served as a surgeon in the Confederate Army.[2] He owned slaves and supported succession.[1]
He lived at 38 Meeting Street in Charleston.
The Waring Historical Library has a collection of his papers.[3]
