Baseball United (2022–present)

[edit]

Baseball United was launched in Dubai in 2022. In its first year the league announced four founding franchises: the Mumbai Cobras, Karachi Monarchs, Arabia Wolves, and Mid East Falcons.[4] The league held an inaugural showcase event in Dubai in November 2023. The two-game All Star series was broadcast in over 120 countries.[5] In March 2024, the league signed an agreement with the Saudi Baseball and Softball Federation to host professional games and establish franchises in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.[6] In February 2025, Baseball United’s UAE Series between the Arabia Wolves and Mid East Falcons drew reported viewership of over three million across 17 broadcast partners.[7]

Shaikh founded BSB Group International in 2018, a marketing and consulting firm working with large corporations and startups. The company has been profiled in business media and recognized in workplace award programs.[8][failed verification]

Shaikh began Besomebody as a personal blog and social media movement, then in 2014 launched the Besomebody experience marketplace app which allowed users to book in-person learning experiences across hundreds of categories.[9] He appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank in 2016 to pitch the company but did not obtain an investment.[10]

In 2017, the app portion of Besomebody was acquired by Utivity, a Denver-based platform, while Shaikh retained the brand, trademarks, and community assets.[11][12] After the transaction, Shaikh pivoted Besomebody toward training, job placement, and employer services.[13]

In 2020, Inc. ranked Besomebody at #49 on its Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the United States.[14]
