Libanoculex intermedius is an extinct species of mosquito. It probably lived between 145 and 100 million years ago, possibly being the first mosquitoes to fly in the Early Cretaceous period, specifically in the skies of the Barremian age. Only two specimens have ever been found, and both were males. Both males had mouthparts strong enough to pierce the skin of an animal.
