Riri Trivedi (born 8 January 1974) is an Indian psychotherapist and author. Her work on childhood trauma and mental health has been discussed in national Indian media, including ,Tribune [1], Scroll.in [2] and The New Indian Express [3]. Trivedi authored This Book Won’t Teach You Parenting, published by Penguin Random House.[4] She has also co-authored Breast Cancer: Medical Treatment, Side Effects, and Complementary Therapies, published by Momentum Press in 2017. [5]

Early life and education

Trivedi was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, to Prof. Prafull A. Trivedi, an academic associated with H. L. College of Commerce, and Madhuben I. Patel, a chartered accountant. She has a younger sister, Dr. Tana Trivedi, who teaches at Ahmedabad University.

She completed her schooling at Mount Carmel School and St. Xavier’s Loyola Hall in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from H. L. College of Commerce, and pursued legal studies at Gujarat University. She later completed a Master of Management Studies from Jankidevi Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.

Trivedi began her professional career in business development and consumer market research, including work with Procter & Gamble in Japan. While based in Singapore, she transitioned from corporate roles to work in wellness and mental health practice. After returning to India, she co-founded Wellness Space, a mental health and wellness center in Ahmedabad, where she works in psychotherapy, professional training, and workshops.

In 2008, Trivedi taught yoga in schools and community centres.[6] She holds a diploma in past life regression therapy and obtained a diploma from the Spiritual Regression Training Academy (SRTA) [7] UK. She has certification in kids and family yoga from Global Family Yoga, USA, and completed a postgraduate diploma in Yin Yoga and recognition from the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA, USA) and the Earth Association. Trivedi has published peer-reviewed research on childhood trauma, adverse childhood experiences, anxiety, depression, and mental health among Indian adults. Her academic work appears in journals indexed on platforms including Google Scholar and PubMed.[9]

In December 2025, Trivedi completed her doctoral research titled “Adverse Childhood Experiences, Anxiety, Depression, and Subjective Well-being among Adult Indians.”

Trivedi is married to Dr. Gunjan Trivedi and has two children, Tvishi and Ansh.
