History
Starwood Hotels & Resort Worldwide announced the opening of Sheraton Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel, the second Sheraton to debut in the city of Jakarta, Indonesia. In Asia Pacific drives Sheraton closer to its goal of adding more than 150 new hotels worldwide by 2020. This is just one of many new initiatives currently underway for Sheraton, the all-encompassing plan to make Sheraton the global hotel brand of choice, everywhere.[2]
Construction of the hotel began following a management agreement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, which later became part of Marriott International after the merger in 2016. The property was inaugurated in October 2015 and introduced as one of the first Sheraton Grand-branded hotels in Southeast Asia.[1]
On the 15th of October 2015, PT Pakuwon Jati Tbk, Unveiled a new chapter in South Jakarta’s skyline. The development of Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel was part of the broader Gandaria City superblock project, which was initiated by PT Pakuwon Jati in the early 2010s. The project aimed to establish a self-contained mixed-use area combining retail, commercial, and hospitality spaces in the southern part of the capital.[3]
