On October 9, a large area of disturbed weather organized and consolidated its circulation, leading to the NHC designating Tropical Depression Seventeen-E.[1] The system was named Tropical Storm Raymond later that day.[2] The next day, Raymond reached peak intensity of 60 mph and a central pressure of 998 mbar. On October 11, Raymond began weakening as a result of cooler waters, dry air, and wind shear to a tropical depression. Later, Raymond made landfall as a remnant low on the coast of Baja California, before dissipating the following day.

Preparations and impacts

Following the formation of Tropical Depression Seventeen-E on October 9, a tropical storm watch was issued.[3] The system was named Tropical Storm Raymond later that day.[4] In Oaxaca, flooding and mudslides were reported. At least two people were killed and two others were injured.[5]
