Vanlal Tluonga Bapui (born 14 November 1944) is an Indian Hmar linguist, educator, and author known for his contributions to the documentation and promotion of the Hmar language. He co-authored the Hmar–Hmar–English Dictionary with Kedutso Kapfo, a major resource for Hmar language learners.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
He researched Hmar language education in Assam.[7][8] He documented Hmar oral traditions.[9][10] His works are archived by the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Tribal Research Institute, New York Public Library, and Azim Premji University.[11][12][13]
Bapui developed the Hmar–Hmar English Dictionary app.[14] His books are also available through multiple publishers and digital libraries.[15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23]
His work contributes to the preservation and promotion of Hmar language and culture.[24][25][26]
