American football player

Drew Mestemaker is an American college football quarterback for the North Texas Mean Green.

Mestemaker attended Vandegrift High School in Austin, Texas. Coming out of high school, he committed to play college football for the North Texas Mean Green as a walk-on.[1]

After starter Chandler Morris entered the NCAA transfer portal, Mestemaker got the start in the 2025 First Responder Bowl where he completed 26 of his 41 pass attempts for 393 yards and two touchdowns, adding 55 yards and a touchdown on nine carries in a loss to Texas State.[2] He finished his first collegiate season in 2024, throwing for 462 yards and two touchdowns.[3] Heading into the 2025 season, Mestemaker competed for the starting quarterback job with Miami transfer Reese Poffenbarger.[4] On August 19, 2025, he was announced as the team’s starting quarterback for their week one matchup.[5][6]

On October 24, 2025, Mestemaker threw for 608 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 54-20 win over conference opponent UNC Charlotte, setting the single game passing yardage record for UNT and the American Conference.
