Eduard Beltran (born 1978) is a Spanish-born French academic and author specializing in negotiation and leadership. He has written books on these subjects, including The Secret Art of Negotiation and Leadership: The Positive Influence and teaches at Sciences Po, ESSEC, Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

Early life and education

Beltran was born in 1978 in Spain.[1] He received a law degree from the University of Barcelona and a degree in political science from the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po).[1] Later, he earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in international law from New York University.[1][2]

Beltran began his career as a civil servant after joining the École nationale d’administration.[1] From 2006 to 2009, Beltran served as deputy head of the cooperation office of the International Cooperation Department at the French Ministry of Justice.[1][3] In September 2009, he joined the law firm DS Avocats as the coordinating lawyer for its international network.[1]

In 2012, Beltran joined the European Negotiation Centre in Paris.[1] A year later, in 2013, he founded the Center For Negotiation (CEFNE), originally based in Madrid, then Paris and now London.[1] He has been a lecturer at academic institutions including Sciences Po, ESSEC Business School, the Complutense University of Madrid, and Pompeu Fabra University.[2][3][4]

Beltran has authored several books on negotiation and leadership. In 2017, he published Bueno para ti, mejor para mí: el nuevo win-win, later released in English as The Secret Art of Negotiation.[5] In 2021, he published Leadership : une influence positive, which was released in three languages including in English as Leadership: The Positive Influence and in Spanish as Liderazgo: la influencia positiva. His book, ¡Confía en mí!, which examines the concept of trust in professional relationships, was published in 2024 and its English version, Trust Me, was released in 2025.[2]
