Armed conflict in Ethiopia (2026-present)

Clashes between the military forces of Ethiopia and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) have erupted in the Tigray Region in northern Ethiopia.[1]

On 29 January, reports showed clashes between Tigrayan fighters and Federal Forces in Mai Degusha, a contested area of Tselemti district in western Tigray. Ethiopian Airlines cancelled its flights from Addis Ababa to cities in Tigray.[2][1]
