The “Gators softball logo.jpeg” file is a non-free image owned by the University Athletic Association, Inc., and is subject to the copyright and trademark rights of that organization. It is not licensed to be used on Wikipedia, but, rather, it may be included in the main Wikipedia article covering the University of Florida‘s Florida Gators softball team under a “fair use” rationale. In addition to federal and state trademark and copyright law, all Wikipedia use of the Gator head logo must comply with Wikipedia policies regarding the fair use of non-free trademark and other copyrighted images, photographs, and other materials. Uses of the Gator head logo that do not comply with Wikipedia policy are subject to immediate deletion. As part of a compromise to restrict the use of the Gator head logo as a non-free image on Wikipedia, this version of the Gator head logo is only approved for use on the main team article for the Florida Gators softball program, and not on related season articles, rivalry articles, notable game articles, or the individual articles about Florida Gators coaches and athletes. Any such additional unauthorized uses of the Gator head logo are subject to immediate deletion.
