This first interim government system was formed on 9 December 1990, following the resignation of HM Ershad. The second interim government was constituted on 5 August 5 2024 by the president of Bangladesh in consultation with several coordinators of the Anti-discrimination Students Movement and the Chief of Army Staff.[3][4] Subsequently, on August 8, an interim government was formed with Muhammad Yunus as the chief adviser.[5][6][7][8] This system serves as the successor to the former caretaker government of Bangladesh.
