International Paderewski Piano Competition (Polish: Międzynarodowy Konkurs Pianistyczny im. Ignacego Jana Paderewskiego), a music competition held every three years in November (next in 2025) in Bydgoszcz, Kuyavian–Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland for piano students of international (initially national) standing, open to pianists aged 16–32.[1] The first Competition took place in 1961 and is organized by the Paderewski Musical Society in Bydgoszcz, in cooperation with the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and the Pomeranian Philharmonic. The aim of the Competition is to honor the memory of the outstanding virtuoso pianist, composer, politician, and statesman, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, and to promote talented young pianists. Part of World Federation of International Music Competitions, known as “Chopin Competition for young pianists”.
