Dutch painter
Joan van der Spriet (c. 1660 – c. 1690), was a Dutch painter who specialised in portrait painting.
Biography
According to Houbraken, Spriet grew up in the Delft orphanage and became a pupil of Johannes Verkolje. He was a portrait painter who moved to England and, after marrying there, settled there.[1]
According to the RKD, Spriet was also a printmaker, but no known works survive.[2]
