Australian property developer and businessman

Justin Brown

Occupation Property developer
Known for Founder of Abadeen
Title Executive Chairman & Founder, Abadeen

Justin Brown is an Australian property developer and business executive.[1] He is the founder and executive chairman of Abadeen, a Sydney-based property development company.[2] Brown has been active in the Australian property industry for more than two decades, with his work regularly covered in real estate and business media.[3]

Brown founded Abadeen in 2000 and has served as its founder.[4] Under his leadership, the company has been involved in a range of residential and mixed‑use developments in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, including urban renewal and boutique residential projects in Sydney and coastal regions.[5][6]

In 2017, as chairman of CBRE Residential, Brown noted that most buyers in his developments were Australian empty-nesters, highlighting his focus on meeting local housing demand.[7][1][8]

In 2024 , Brown said in an interview that his company Abadeen identified a “big demand for the empty‑nester product,” and described the firm’s strategy of offering boutique developments aimed at downsizers seeking lower‑maintenance, high‑quality apartments.[9]

In 2025, Brown resigned as chairman of CBRE Residential Projects to concentrate on his role as founder and executive chairman of Abadeen, a property development company based in Sydney.[2]

Brown argued that rising house prices on Sydney’s high‑end North Shore were “resetting the premium housing baseline,” a shift he believed would “improve apartment sales” by restoring a larger price differential between standalone homes and apartments.[10]
