The Kenan Advantage Group was established in 2001 after the Advantage Management Group acquired the Kenan Transport Company.[a]

In 2010, Goldman Sachs and Centerbridge Partners purchased KAG from Littlejohn & Co. for $720 million.[6] OMERS Private Equity purchased the company from Goldman and Centerbridge in 2015.[7]
