Khawaja Riaz Ahmed (Urdu: خواجہ ریاض احمد) was a former Pakistani coach and sports organizer. Ahmed was the first coach of the Pakistan national football team in 1950.
Ahmed served as the Honorary Secretary of the North-West India Football Association from the years 1942 to 1947.[1] He also served as the Honorary Secretary for the Punjab Football Association as well.
In 1950, Ahmed became the first ever coach of the Pakistan national football team.[2] He accompanied the team on their tour to Iran and Iraq.[3] Ahmed would return for a second stint as the head coach with the national team for their participation in the 1954 Asian Games.[1][2][4][5] In the tournament, Pakistan would have a massive win over Singapore by a scoreline of 6–2,[6] but lost to Burma by 1–2, not being able to qualify for the next stage.[6]
